Up Armidale Road

Come & enjoy a screening of ‘Up Armidale Road’, the feature film, with live music by Grace and Hugh, in support of Tyringham RFS

About this event

Two songwriters, a little upright piano, a village full of talented bushfire survivors… and a song from the ashes.

Come experience Up Armidale Road, the feature film, amongst friends and neighbours at the Dundurrabin Community Centre.

This event is free to attend. The Tyringham RFS will be firing up the barbie for a fundraising sausage sizzle from 6pm, and running a raffle throughout the night so be sure to bring cash! The film will screen from 7pm, followed by a short intermission (supper will be for sale courtesy of the Community Centre) and the night will finish with live music performed by Grace and Hugh with their little old upright piano.

Seating is provided, and places are limited. To book, register here!

————————————————————-

Up Armidale Road is the culmination of two years shooting and production (with thanks to the South Grafton Community Bendigo Bank), chronicling a unique collaboration between the community of Nymboida, songwriters Grace and Hugh, and the musicians of the Clarence Valley Conservatorium.

This journey to a song takes place in the aftermath of the firestorm that decimated Nymboida in November 2019. All are welcome to the screening, and please – if someone you know fought the fires, donated, or contributed to the recovery effort, spread the word and invite them along. This film is a celebration of the creativity and resilience of the Nymboida community, and a thankyou to all those who helped – throughout the duration of that fire season and in the continuing aftermath.

The Up Armidale Road 2022 Bushfire Recovery Tour is sponsored by the Yulgilbar Foundation and the FRRR.

The event is finished.
